That this movie is based on a Greek myth. This movie contains all the important aspects of fantasy adventure movies supposed to posses. I can say that this movies is action packed because of the fighting scenes, battle field scenes, the massive slaughter and close up shots of death in cold blood. This can not be called exaggerated but still in a realistic manner that has style. There is a love scene once and other times the main couple is kissing with the most passion. There is no nude but more like shoulders and backs showing.
What is the story?
The demigod Hercules is the son of god Zeus and the mortal queen Alcmene. This role is translated by Roxanne Mckee. The roots lies in the Greek mythology. The queen gets worried and argue with the killer mentality having king Amphitryon. This king is only driven to kill he is constantly looking for a kill. The king is played by Scott Adkin. I think he bring the king alive with outstanding Hollywood appearance. There were war after war waging the queen begs the gods to stop the king. The answer is heard as the Hercules is born. The god Zeus is with plans which is approved by the godess Hera to impregnate the queen to birth Hercules. Before Hercules his return from Egypt where he used to do labor as a slave. After he returns to Greece he accepts his identity as Zeus son.
Is the movie any good?
I think this movie is a great because of the fighting scenes filmed in a great manner which is in the details accurate. I think this movies is like Gladiator, 300. There are in so many weathers conditions the film is completed. This makes the movie has good moods and for the ones who admire a hero in a film this is great movie to check out. I think this film is great to watch on a lazy Sunday.
The overdoing of naked bodies showing is up to minimum in this film. You do not have to worry about that Hercules is a fitness teacher showing his body like it a body building contest. This film is for sure a 7 in a scale from 1 to 10. I like myths very much. I have some knowledge about Greek mythology. This is some good entertainment with the believes of the Greeks.
